Campus Beautification at RHSA
On Saturday, October 13, 2012, parent and student volunteers and our amazing Ms. Lopez worked on making RHSA even more beautiful. Everything looks better and the newly built redwood bench/planter is awesome. Hurray for the carpenters: Alan McGrew, Jamie Parker, Chuck Shin, Karl Strahlendorf and Ron Reeder!
We put the bench in the paved area behind the 200 bldg and near the bungalows. We picked a couple of larger ficus trees and put them in the planter boxes. It really livens up that square. Several things were repotted, lots of pots were weeded and many plants were pruned. Maria McGrew and Nanette Davis did a wonderful job at the entrance to the admin bldg. with help from several others. Joli Brown created a beautiful succulent arrangement in a purple pot placed to the right of the front door. Chris Strangendorf, Joli Brown and an entire crew worked on the area behind the 200 bldg. The students did a good job on the sign project, helped unload and load supplies, and cleaned up after all the weeding and pruning. Elaine Wheaton worked with Janice Reeder's son weeding behind the auditorium. Janice and Jolie Reeder, Jamie Parker, Carol Parker and Mignon Richardson worked in the quad area near the entrance to the school. Dan Mulherin picked up water and trash bags and cash for the PARTS-sponsored pizza lunch. (We apologize if we missed some volunteer names, but there were other adults who did not sign our sheet.) It was great fun and we are planning another beautification day soon. Join us! |
