Is Your Student Meeting the A-G Requirements for College?

For college to be an option, it's critical to monitor your student's advancement through the a-g requirements. For college to be affordable, the higher GPA, the better. Find out before it's too late!  Download the chart below and plug in your student's grades by semester and year.  Check it annually when scheduling classes with the school counselor.

Important -- Avoid a lot of heartache Senior year! If your student gets a D or F in a core a-g class, find out immediately how to make up the grade, re-take the class, attend summer school, or find another solution.

PARTS has two excellent community resources:  parent Leslie Gilpin, counselor at another high school, and John Wilson, independent certified college counselor and Director of the West Angeles Education and Enrichment Program (see College Admissions Help page).  Always check with the RHSA counselor for the latest on a-g... requirements do change occasionally!

The Power of Zeros

The A-G Class & Grade Tracker

Print this and mark off each class (and the grade earned) taken on the path to college. Don't let a "D" or "F" ruin your student's future -- be proactive and immediately get advice on how to make it up.  Remember, Career Math is NOT an a-g class!  Algebra and Geometry are required for graduation -- but Algebra 2 is required for college (and a fourth year is recommended).
